How does the period last on birth control?

I'm 3 days away from my 7 placebo pills, and I know I'm supposed to have my period while I'm on those.

I was wondering if the period usually starts the first day of the placebo pills, or later? And does it last all 7 days? That seems like a long time...How does the period last on birth control?
You will usually get your period on day 3 or 4 of your placebos - but maybe as early as day 2.

Your period will usually run about 2/3 as long as you would normally have it off the pill. So if you have a 5 day period, your period usually will be about 3. This is not a hard-and-fast rule however (my periods last almost 10 days ... ON the pill!!).

If you're still bleeding/spotting when you start your next pack of active pills, your period will usually stop within the first day or two however, IF you go that long. How does the period last on birth control?
It generally takes a few days before you get your withdrawl bleeding on the non-active pills because it takes that much time for your body to react to the decrease in progesterone level. For example, I start my pill packs on Tuesdays, but my withdrawl bleeding always starts on Thursday. For me, it is a very light 4 day period. Like clockwork, Thursday to Sunday every time.
I'm on my fourth week now, and got my period on Wednesday, which would be the fourth day in the fourth week.
A week or less. 4 for me instead of a heavy 8.
In my experience, the period does not start on the first placebo pill because of my body's cycle on the pill.

My periods start on the third placebo pill in my pack (which is 28 days in my ';cycle';) and lasts 6 days; ending on the second hormone pill of the next pack.

I start my packs on a Friday and get my periods on a Sunday.
i have many friends who take birth control for irregular periods, and most seem to say it lasts about 3 days
In my experience, the period will start about 2-3 days after your last pill and will last about 3-5 days.

For example:

I start my packs on Fridays (pills taken late at night)

Last pill of the pack is on a Thursday

Period starts Monday morning at the earliest

Period lasts until about Thursday

(Note this is why I start my pills on Friday instead of Sunday - this way I never have my period on a weekend!)

  • Why are domestic dogs a threat and what are some possible ways we can fight/control it?

Rabies are a wild life issue.. just to note incase some people think it is a dog issue... dogs get rabies from wildlife and its hard to control the outbreak in wildlife.

Domestic dogs don't really pose a threat on their own...bad ownership is the cause of any aggressive acts domestic dogs preform.

Before dogs were domestic and lived as pets they posed no threat at all. They were rather scared of us. Depending what you believe and read... Dogs either domesticated themselves and were scavengers before hand..or we domesticated them and they were pack animals and lived similar lives as wolves.

The greatest risk they would have had is to livestock.. if you believe they were like wolves...

Why are domestic dogs a threat and what are some possible ways we can fight/control it?
Well many pure bred dog have been inter bred and are becoming more and more of a threat. the dogs become vicious and some uncontrolable. Probably the best answer is to keep the papers of what the dogs family is. Then when they breed the purebreds they can breed them with dogs far from their biiological family. Or the easiest way to stop this dilemma is to stop pure bred breeding but that will most likely never happen. Also many dogs are beaten and neglected, hence they become vicious and at that point don't know right from wrong. It really is a sad situation that needs to stop.

Why are domestic dogs a threat and what are some possible ways we can fight/control it?
Some domestic dogs are treated wrongly and end up aggressive. It's a sad thing that happens and the only way i can think of controlling it is not giving away pets to the wrong owners. Of course you don't know what they are going to be like but, you can ask them stuff like what do you do for a living so you know if they will be able to even spend time with the dog while your kid is at school. Or if the owner is at work. Dogs need someone to play with expesially a pup.
Domestic dogs aren't a threat. They can be a PROBLEM because they can be owned by any idiot.

Dogs don't ';contain'; rabies, EVERY mammal can transmit or catch rabies.

Want to prevent rabies? Be a responsible owner and have your dog vaccinated.

Want to make dogs less of a threat? Encourage responsible ownership.
say --- are you with the chinese government?

Those morons had over 100,000 domestic dogs beat to death because they were too stupid to provide rabies vaccinations for them --

Now tell me about how people are threats to society - lot more to work on with that - people are the threats to society, not dogs.

Nicolea -- stop breeding pedigrees and there won't be any more problems? Huh????

What do you think mutts are comprised of? Do you think they have no traits of any of the breeds that they are a mix of? Logic is not your strong point to put it mildly.

Been some weird questions on here - but this one is beyond dumb.
Well unnentered/spayed dogs reproduce causing an over population of stray animals (along with feral cats). Also when strays aren't vaccinated then they can carry diseases with them and spread to other dogs and animal life... Then there are the stray dogs that keep dragging out my trash and the feral cats that use my yard as a restroom... they are a threat to my sanity...
Train them correctly and they won't be a threat. Problem solved.:)

    Add:

If a dog has rabies, it will be put down, as its impossible to cure.

If this is what you see as a ';threat'; What do you go when joe shmo with aids walks past you? There are MUCH bigger threats to us humans that we live and breath in everyday, than a dog is. I don't know where you heard this...but I find it, not very reputable.
The biggest threat domestic dogs pose to society is the increased risk of stepping in poop unexpectedly.

Howbout we worry about violent crime, the economy, education and health care before we start worrying about something that poses no threat to us?
my dogs arent a threat 2 society. they have all their vaccinations and are well socialized

im not 2 sure the point you're trying 2 make
It would help if you could define why you think they are a threat?
    I don't understand your question.

What is the best form of birth control that isn't the pill because I hate the idea of taking a pill everyday.?

I have had the MIRENA IUD for 4 yrs now and really like it.

It is good for 5 yrs and your periods get very very light. Nothing to remember to take, so there is a very low chance of pregnancy.

I highly recommend itWhat is the best form of birth control that isn't the pill because I hate the idea of taking a pill everyday.?
abstinenceWhat is the best form of birth control that isn't the pill because I hate the idea of taking a pill everyday.?
    Yeah, abstinence.
    not doing anything
I used a diaphragm and spermicidal jelly for ten years, was very effective and comfortable. Just have to be sure to use it properly and your doctor can fit you for one and instruct you in it's use.
talk to your doctor but you could try the injection or the implant. Your best bet is talking to your doctor tho because they will be able to advise you best.
Personally, I find that the NuvaRing has been the best option for me. You wear it for 3 weeks...out for a week...then repeat. Much easier than remembering to take a pill, less painful than a shot, and not as expensive as an IUD.
Other than the pill, use a condom EVERY time. And FYI: you can get pregnant from the pull out method.

How soon after taking the active birth control pills will I be protected?

Hi there, I have a question.

I have been taking Loestrin 28-day birth control pills for nearly five months, in preparation for getting married. My doctor told me it would be best to take the pills for several months to ';get it in my system';.

Well I got married last month :) Anyway, my question is this:

After a week of taking the inactive pills (I had my period during this week), am I protected the day that I take the first active green pill?

For that matter, is it safe to have sex while I'm taking the inactive pills? I wouldn't want to do it during my period (yucky!) but from the time I start taking the inactive pills, it takes two days for me to start my period and I would like to be able to ';do it'; on those two days if possible. We haven't used condoms before - I'd prefer to just work around the pill if possible.

The instruction sheet that came with the pack was kind of vague but I'd rather be safe than sorry, so please answer if you can!!How soon after taking the active birth control pills will I be protected?
Go ahead. You are as safe as a birth control pill can make you.How soon after taking the active birth control pills will I be protected?

How long does it take for birth control to be effective once you start taking it?

im starting yaz does anyone have any info they feel i should know. How long does it take for birth control to be effective once you start taking it?
My doctor recommended that I use protection until I completed my first 28 days of using the pill. How long does it take for birth control to be effective once you start taking it?
a full cycle of the pills (ie 28 days, including the 7 days of sugar pills)
It should take 7 days for you to be covered...I'd advise not totally relying on it thought because there could still be other things which can stop its effectiveness i.e the runs, being sick, stress etc. Also, dont eat grapefruit when on most pills as it reduces the effectiveness. Not too sure if this is the same when on Yasmin though.

How to remove unwanted programs if they are not removed even after trying in the control panel?

There is a program called Virus Response Lab 2009 crept into my system giving warning about threats from Internet. I never installed it.In Add or Remove programs of control panel ,I removed it.But Display of Threats by Anti virus Lab2009 appears on the screen and disturbs me.it seems the program is not uninstalled. How to remove it?How to remove unwanted programs if they are not removed even after trying in the control panel?
have you tried using a spyware remover such as ad-aware 2008 see the link below for a overview and download of the program

    http://www.computeractive.co.uk/vnunet/d鈥?/a>

it might work better than messing around with your registryHow to remove unwanted programs if they are not removed even after trying in the control panel?
Virus Response Lab 2009, or VirusResponse Lab 2009, or simply VirusResponseLab2009, is a counterfeit anti-spyware / anti-malware software. It is believed that VirusResponse Lab 2009 is a clone of the recent Virus Lab 2009 to have been encountered recenlty. VirusResponse Lab 2009 usually come up after you installed a video codec that come with Trojan, malware and virus.

it is extremely important to remove VirusResponse Lab 2009 from your computer. You can try SpyHunter* Spyware Detection Utility, which is very intuitive and highly efficient. VirusResponse Lab 2009 can be removed automatically. If you are familiar with registry edit and dll files in Windows, you could try the VirusResponse Lab 2009 manual removal instructions. It might take time and patience, but it is equally effective if you get it right.
you can delete the files manually and then use regedit to clean it out of teh registry manually. There are a lot of programs that are like this. They just dont uninstall cleanly. Be careful using regedit, you can damage your computer completely. You can do a search in the registy and remove those entries.
You can try to look through the list of installed programs and see if there are any suspicious wierd name and try to uninstall them. Then delete temorary files cookies. Run anti-virus too. You should try to clean up the system on your computer. Back up your fies first though
its probably written itself into your system files anyway but the folder should be in Windows or Program files .. you'll have to search manually and right click %26amp; delete. other than that you could be looking at FDISk ... start backing up your files to CD .. sharpish
You can use dedicated uninstalling softwares like advanced uninstaller pro. But you have to pay for this. If you look for freewares, try this software -- Revo uninstaller

    http://www.revouninstaller.com/revosetup.exe
Download, update %26amp; run a full scan with this deleting whatever it finds

    http://www.download.com/Malwarebytes-Ant鈥?/a>

    There is a free version
Try a removal programme called 'crap cleaner'

You can download it free from 'file hippo' (just type that into a search engine)
    Hi

Go to download.com and choice uninstall Program or type in searching uninstall . you will found use full soft-wear can easily remove unwanted Program
    This is pretty good.

How long does it take a birth control pill to start working?

I was just curious cause I started my first monthly pill last night, and today I had sex w/ my fiance. I just want to know if I'm covered! ;) Oh yeah, and how long should a woman wait before using a pregnancy test to make sure that she's not pregnant? I'm only curious, so I can use this info for future reference.. Can anybody answer plz?How long does it take a birth control pill to start working?
Birth control pills do not start fully working until after you have finished the first month.

Until than you should be using condoms and practicing safe sex because your still capable of faling pregnant.

In order for a pregnancy test to be accurate you would have to wait and see if your period comes and if not take a pregnancy test. Usualy 2 to 3 weeks after having sex.

Good luck! How long does it take a birth control pill to start working?
That wasnt smart to have unprotected sex when you have only had 1 dose of the pill? It takes longer than that to take effect. You should have known this. Your doctor should have told you this and you should have asked. You need to use extra protection for at least a month on the pill. Also, if you get sick and need antibiotics you have to use secondary protection because some antibiotics mess with the effectiveness of birth control pills.
You should use back up method for at least one week- two weeks. If you get a good pregnancy test (Digital are best) you can test up to 5days before your missed cycle. If you don't think your pregnant I would just wait until you missed you cycle, and if your stressed give it a week after. Stress can cause your cycles to be late.
I was told to use another form of protection for 7 days. He said the pill needed to be given 7 full days to begin working.....and if I ever missed a pill I would have to use another form of protecton for another 7 days......That does seem like a short amount of time see some of the other answers on here. I would probably wait a month!
Your doctor really should have talked to you about this...

You need to wait until you've used the WHOLE first months pack before you are covered. You are not covered for pregnancy. I would stop taking the pills in case you did get pregnant. The pill can cause defects in the embryo. Usually a woman will get an accurate result 14 days after sex but it can take 21 days.
If it's your first pack ever you should use other protection just in case, and definitely have other protection for the 1st seven days. You need time for your body to get used to the hormones. And the best time for a pregnancy test is when you miss a period. SOmetimes a few days earlier.
majority of birth control pills require full 3 months for them to actually take the affect of a birth control. but then again, there r different kinds of pill out there nowadays and different levels of hormones, so u should ask ur doctor bout the ones u're taking. but the average is 3 months for it to work at its' full affect.
Birth Control can take a week to a month to kick in, it is NEVER 100% sure. I know women who got pregnant on the pill %26amp; a condom. It's just never for sure. You can also wait to take a test 2-4 weeks after you concieve. It took me a month! Good Luck! =)
normally you have to wait a week for it to be affective and after the first day of your missed cycle you can tell with a pregnancy test
I was told 3-4 weeks to work completely! :)

O and to test you wait until your next period is due and you can buy 5 day sooner test but I don't trust haha I didn't get a positive till I was 3 days late.

    Good luck
ur suppose to use a condom for 30 days after starting ur birth control and unually wait 3-4 weeks to take a pregnancy test
most pills-a month. with YAZ if you take it sunday after your period, it takes affect in 7 days.
they say use back up for 30 days
