How long does amoxicillin affect birth control?

I always start my new pack of BC on Mondays. Well the thursday before I started my new pack, I had to take amoxicillin. On Sunday I stopped taking it. So I never took amoxicillin while being on active pills/ new pack. I'm light bleeding and cramping like I'm onmy period an I still have 5 active pills left. Could this be breakthrough bleeding or could I be pregnant and have implantation bleeding? Please help!!How long does amoxicillin affect birth control?

I had been on the pill for 10 years non-stop and only took the antibiotic for 3 days and bam! I'm now 40weeks1day pregnant! and due to have a baby boy anyday!


I'd say finish the amoxicillin... and then wait until you start a new pack of birth controls and are on it for 30 days before you have unprotected sex.


The amoxicillin completely de-activates the pill.
