Maybe do a little bit of research on the topic before presenting it to him. It could show your mature side and that you are not just wanting to get on it to have sex, which would probably be his concern.
Chances are, if you have a good relationship with your dad, he already will know that you are not just wanting to get on it to have sex, and it will be just an awkward moment because you are talking about your period with a male!

In all probability your dad is waiting for this discussion and does not know how to talk to YOU about it. As a single parent, I'm guessing the last thing he wants is another child to raise. Unless there are strict religious reasons, he will most likely be relieved to have you on birth control. Just sit him down and explain to him that you think it would make your periods easier to deal with, since they'll be lighter and more regular. Tell him he doesn't need to make your doctor appointment (do it yourself) or go to the pharmacy with you. If you need him to pay, make sure he knows what it will cost. And one day, tell him how much you love and appreciate him being there for you. It can't be easy as a man to raise a daughter and have to shop for bras and pads! Good luck, honey!
Start by telling him you want to regulate your period because of cramps, dont even bring up the sex factor. Just tell him your periods have been real bad and your cramping is unbearable. Read all the facts about how birth control can help with periods its not just to prevent pregnancy.

Tell him you need to go see a lady doctor for your woman problems, if he digs any deeper tell him everything's been irregular and you've been having bad cramps and you need to go to the doc to get some medicine for it......it's the truth, you're just leaving out the ';birth control'; words.

Stop eating not when you're stuffed, but when your hunger is satisfied. when you feel hungry, drink a glass of water instead. instead of watching tv, go for a walk.
drink a glass of water before you eat a meal or make sure to drink it while you eat. Eat a lot of fiber foods or a salad with your meal. Sometimes I just do not want to stop eating because it so so good though I am full, so I have to put it away fast or dump something in it so you will not want to eat any more of it!
Least expensive would be drink more water. Protein rich foods would help you feel ';full';.
You can get your teeth wired together.
Start throwing up after every meal.
eat about every 3 hours and fill up on healthy whole foods
Drink water its curbs it! Goodluck!
Control what you are eating by not buying fattening products at all. Buy things like fruit and pretzels. I love fat free milk. I put some Ovaltine in it so I feel like I am cheating by having some chocolate. Also, continually drink water. It flushes out your system and keeps you full.
Drink lots of water, and eat 6 small meals a day. (1 carb, 1 protein, and 1 vegetable.)
That will make anyone lose weight, as long as they fill a small plate or bowl, and you don't starve yourself.
as others have mentioned drinking water definitely helps reduce the craving for food. I find that the supplement chromium, one tablet three times a day with food, reduces the craving for eating dramatically within one week.
Eat every 3 hours. Plan a snack between breakfast and lunch, then another snack between lunch and dinner. Make your snack a piece of fruit or some veggie sticks. Doing this keeps your blood sugars steady and not spiking. Spiking makes you hungry.

When does missing a dose of birth control count as missing two doses?
I missed a dose of my birth control on Wednesday (yesterday) and then took my missed pill and today's pill today. The problem is, I didn't get the chance to take it until several hours later than my regular dose time.
I normally take it at 6:30am, and I didn't take it today until 3:00pm.
Would this count as missing 2 days of active pills? Or just one.

Yes, I was on the pill/patch for *years* before having sex. It helped regulate my hormones, which steadied my cycle and cleared up my acne.
Personally I prefer the patch much more than the pill (which made me naseous). But, conversely, some people have a bad reaction to the hormones in the patch - if you smoke or have a family history of high blood pressure, it could be dangerous, so stick with the pill.
You should DEFINITELY use a back-up method of protection, like a condom - the only thing that can absolutely guarantee you won't get pregnant is abstinence, and birth control won't protect you from any STDs your boyfriend may unwittingly be carrying.

I was just curious cause I started my first monthly pill last night, and today I had sex w/ my fiance. I just want to know if I'm covered! ;) Oh yeah, and how long should a woman wait before using a pregnancy test to make sure that she's not pregnant? Until than you should be using condoms and practicing safe sex because your still capable of faling pregnant.

He said the pill needed to be given 7 full days to begin working.....and if I ever missed a pill I would have to use another form of protecton for another 7 days......That does seem like a short amount of time see some of the other answers on here. In my social studies class we are discussing ';how much control should the government have over limiting our right to freedom of speech, what limits should be set?';

When limits are put on freedom it loses it's meaning. It isn't free anymore. We should be aware of other's feelings when we speak, this is just plain common sense.

Tell him you need to go see a lady doctor for your woman problems, if he digs any deeper tell him everything's been irregular and you've been having bad cramps and you need to go to the doc to get some medicine for it......it's the truth, you're just leaving out the ';birth control'; words.
tell him you want it to keep your skin clear and regulates your body properly. if you are too afraid to talk you can always go to a teen clinic, you could also have another relative help you out with this

I just bought a remote control airplane for my nephew. It's Hobbico Flyzone SkyFly. I would like to sign him up for a class or get him in touch with a club there who could teach him how to use fly the plane. I don't control myself , I have realized lately that this is my biggest problem. I can plan to perfection but cant execute it %26amp; that's just because I'm lazy/ I should be saying lack self control.

Planning to perfection is, in my opinion part of your challenge. No one is perfect and therefore you have set yourself up for failure before you even begin! I don't think it is a matter of laziness (but you know yourself best) but rather being overwhelmed with the enormity of the task that you have already decided needs to be completed in the perfect manner in which you have planned.
I would suggest that you start very small in your plans. For example, if you wanted to lose weight--start by cutting out all sugar foods. Then when you have accomplished that and are comfortable with it (after a few weeks) then cut down on the fatty foods and continue on this process. Now, the kicker is to be kind to yourself because you, in all likelihood, will have a few sugar snacks in the beginning. So you had a sugar snack--let it go--often times people that are trying to achieve a goal with give up when they ';fall off the wagon'; so to speak--as in the example I have provided with the sugar snack.
Mastering self control is a life long process for most people. We all have areas where we tend to have difficulties. The maturation process consists of working on controlling impulses and ergo unwanted behaviours. In my opinion, working on the perfection piece is the first place to begin!
The first and biggest mistake is that the goals your setting yourself seem to need more effort and energy than you willing to put in.
Break up the time line with the goal at the end working backwards with about 10 points, then for each of the points make another list of all the things to be done at or by that point etc..

How long should you be off birth control before ovulation is back to normal?
I have been on BC since my son was born 8 months ago and we are thinking about having a another baby. I want to concieve in Jan feb or may. I need to know how long it will take after I get off my Yaz for my ovulation to get back to normal? I'm trying for a girl so I need to know exact ovulation dates! Everyone is different. I got off in September (was on for about 6 years) and began ovulating and having periods as normal right after. Some women take months to go back to normal, even after a short time on the pill!
I'd recommend getting off now so that way you can start charting immediately. I don't think that in January or even February you can be completely certain of your ovulation (especially if you're trying the Shettle's method for genders...) but hopefully by May you'll be all set! Just use a condom in the meantime.

My doctor told me the average woman conceives 8 months after stopping the pill, but of course it can happen any time before that. She told me she usually recommends that women stop taking the pill when ';it wouldn't be so bad if you got pregnant.'; I would like to start trying for a baby in the spring, so I'll probably stop taking the pill in the next few months.
I was on Yaz for a year. When I finished my last pack I had a period like normal, but then I skipped the first one I should have had without the pills. I had a normal one right on schedule the second month after the pills. I would suggest stopping them at the end of the pack you're on now just to give your body a cycle or two to normalize. My doctor recommended me being off the pill for at least 3 months for everything to clear out of my system, and for my body to start getting on it's own normal schedule.

As I'm sure all of you know, the media has changed the way models and spokespeople are shown to the public. Many are changing their lifestyles to one day, hope that they may look like that. Even kids as young as 10 are starving themselves to ensure they look like people on magazines. My question is:
Why can't we defy ourselves from the chains of the media and live how we want to live, not by following a ';book';?Why do we all the media to control our perceptions of beauty?
America is celebrity obsessed and I hate it. Cosmetic surgeons, once upon a time, would only do surgery on people with deformities or say a really big nose. You had to go thur psychological conversations with the surgeon before he would work on you because of high expectations.
Today it is big boobs, bigger boobs and OMG BOOBS. Lips plumped up, eyelids, and even stuff south of the border. It's insane!
The labels are also a joke. I won't buy or wear anything with a companies name on it unless they would like to pay me to advertise for them. (I do sometimes buy name brand tennis shoes because they are the most comfortable and last.

Why is the peanut allergy out of control now?
I've noticed that this allergy is way more out of control now than it used to be. Why is this? Medically and Theoretically, it doesn't matter to me. If it's theoretical back it up.

Ok i had my period at the end of the month of June 26-30 and I took my pill on wendnesday and thursday of the beginning of July and I stopped taking them. I stop beacuse I thought I was pregnant but then on July 6th I started again and it last for 5 days.What happens if you stop taking birth control right after your period?

The first thing you need to consider is if your cat is indeed ';spraying'; by raising his tail and backing up to objects in your home, and then urinating on them. If he is doing this, then he he spraying. Spraying is verticle urination on objects. If he is sitting down and peeing around the house on horizontal objects, such as top of the bed, or on the floor, he is urinating outside the box, and this is called ';inappropriate elimination';
Spraying is a marking behavior, and inappropriate elimination can be the sign of a urinary tract infection, or blockage, which is painful to the cat, so he associates using the box with pain, and often he cannot get to the box in time, either due to a felt urgency, but only small amounts trickle out.
We had a similar situation with two of our cats. One cat was peeing around our bedroom and top of the bed, as she had a bladder infection caused by crystals in her bladder. The other cat had been upset by an outdoor intact tom cat that he could see and smell through the window. He was spraying. It was a nightmare to get to the bottom of what was going on.
The spraying cat was treated with a mild tranquilizer called Elavil, and the results were fantastic. The other cat was treated with medication and change in diet to an all grainless moist cat food, and she recovered with no complications.
We tried all the vet-supplied remedies before our vet medicated the cat, closed the window, closed the shutters but that didn't work. Since marking behavior is leaving ';calling cards'; to tell other cats that the territory is ';his';, removing the scent just made him crazy and he started re-marking those areas. It was a lose-lose situation until he was medicated. We then did a clean up job which proved to be successful. We used a product called Simple Solutions, and a black light to highlight all the areas on which he had sprayed.
But we had to replace our mattress.

My suggestion to you, whether this is spraying or inappropriate elimination is to have your vet examine him and do a blood and urine test to ascertain whether there is any underlying medical condition and then, if all is clear, then talk to your vet about medication.
If there were any changes in your household,or routines, your cat may also be anxious. Once you get to the bottom of your cat's issue, then a clean up can be done effectively.

I am 16 and possibly going on te pill because I have heavy periods for several months at a time.
(I am on month 4 with a heavy flow, at the moment)
I also have mild to moderate acne, depending on the time of the month I break out.

I've been on LoEstrin 24 and Cryselle. I didn't have acne problems but my period was heavy, long, and irregular.
The Loestrin eventually resulted in shortening my period to 2 days and making it VERY light and eliminating cramps.
On the Cryselle, my period is still lighter than it was off the pill but much heavier than on LoEstrin, and I get cramps, but not as bad as off the pill.
On either pill my period was perfectly regulated to the schedule of the pills, except for a couple of phases of light spotting.

I've been reading about a type of birth control pill that's in development now- the man takes it, rather than the woman. As far as I can tell, it's not hormonal. What do you think?What do you think about male birth control?
I think I would rather take mine because I know for sure I've taken it, whereas a man may not have taken his, but tell me he has... I mean if he wants to have sex and it would seem too easy to lie about it, and I really would never take that chance. However it might work for some people I guess, whatever's right for you.

I think it is a very good idea... however I know that I don't always remember to take my lipator... and I don't even know when I do. I only find out how many days I missed when its time to order a refill, usually at least 7 - 8 pills left. (from a 90 day script)
Why not? It is a choice of the couple choosing a form of birth control. Luckily, I don't have those issues.

If it's a pill, it has to be hormonal... or some type of drug that is just as strong. I would need to know more about it before I could say what I thought of it.. but I don't like the idea of taking medicine unnecessarily when it can have a real negative impact on your body. I wouldn't want my boyfriend taking it.

i think its good cause im a girl but what if you change borfriends and the one takes it but the other doesnt and since you're not you could get pregnant. it's probably good if both take it but the woman shouldn't stop cause it's too big of a risk

Many feminists will oppose it because it takes the advantage away from them. However, I fully support equality in birth control, no more of the ';oops, I forgot to take my pill, hunny'; lies forcing men into fatherhood before they're ready (or, willing).
Besides the technical challenges, it's not particularly viable sociologically. Let me put it this way: if, in the heat of the moment, you become hesitant about having intercourse with a new partner, and he says ';Not to worry, I'm on the pill';, how reliable would you believe this information to be.
Within the context of a stable, loving, equal partnership, male birth control could definitely work, but in all other contexts, women are going to have to continue to protect themselves.

I love the comments about how it's still her loss if the woman becomes pregnant. Tell that to the judge, jackass. These are the same guys who will gripe about fathers being denied their rights in custody cases or being forced to pay child support for kids they didn't want.
It isn't EASY for women to remember the pill either. Too bad. If you don't want to pay child support, protect yourself in one way or another or don't complain when reality hits home.
In any case, birth control injections will be available to men soon as well.

It seems only matural that the male should take his turn in riskin his life taking birth control!!! What's that o;d saying? I think it's great. Anything that gives more individuals the power to take more control over their own reproductive destiny is a good thing.
I think that between menstruation, extreme cramping, pregnancy, and the fact that by the time I stop getting pimples I'll start getting wrinkles.. I think the men should have to take the birth control! And you know what, I hope it does affect his hormones and give him cramps or something because if my boyfriend wants to do it, he should have to sacrifice too!
I think that is awesome!!! But can you trust a guy to actually take it everyday??? I wouldn't. I have to remind my man to do everything so I wouldn't count on him=) If we continued to take birth control and they did I think the pregnancy rate would go down which would be good. I think that if they had a birth control for men that they could take once a month like a shot or something would be cool. On the otherside I think that alot of men might take it. Especially the ones that sleep around. They wouldn't have to worry about the girl calling in a month. LOL It would put them at ease.
