How long do antibiotics affect the birth control pill?

Does it affect your whole cycle of pills for that month or just the days you were taking the antibiotic?

Specifically wondering about Amoxicillin.

Thanks :)How long do antibiotics affect the birth control pill?
I would not be certain but t would be best to use another form of contraception for the rest of your cycle and possibly the one after just to be on the safe side. Antibiotics do not stop the pill working, but do lower its success rate to about 92%, for this reason another form of contraception is advisable.

If you require antibiotics for a long period of time you should consider switching to the contraceptive patch as it is released directly into the blood stream and it is less prone to failureHow long do antibiotics affect the birth control pill?
You will need to use a back up method while you are taking the antibiotics and for one week after stopping them.
