it's not so much the ordinary citizens who want to tell you what to do, it's the gov't officials - and it's a win-win for them... if a certain issue holds no meaning for a person, they're not going to fight it... if something strikes a nerve, they'll follow gov't over the cliff in agreement...

They don't. They just want their cut (sin tax). If they ban anything, it's to guide you into the hands of their top lobbyists. Example: Banned marijuana - helped cotton and liqueur. Banned clove cigarettes - helped insurance company profits. Banned homosexual marriage - helped maintain control of religious right vote. It goes on and on like that. It's all about money and power. It hasn't been about ';We the people'; for a very long time.
It is the religious right that wants to legislate morality.





Did you know that in many southern states there were laws prohibiting sodomy between two consenting adults?





If that isn't controlling a persons social behavior i don't know what is it's down right totalitarian.
Only Repubs do that.








The religious right tries to regulate your gambling habits and restrict who you are allowed to marry. They push religion on the law in violation of the 1st amendment; separation of church %26amp; state.
