Why are domestic dogs a threat and what are some possible ways we can fight/control it?

Rabies are a wild life issue.. just to note incase some people think it is a dog issue... dogs get rabies from wildlife and its hard to control the outbreak in wildlife.

Domestic dogs don't really pose a threat on their own...bad ownership is the cause of any aggressive acts domestic dogs preform.

Before dogs were domestic and lived as pets they posed no threat at all. They were rather scared of us. Depending what you believe and read... Dogs either domesticated themselves and were scavengers before hand..or we domesticated them and they were pack animals and lived similar lives as wolves.

The greatest risk they would have had is to livestock.. if you believe they were like wolves...

Well many pure bred dog have been inter bred and are becoming more and more of a threat. the dogs become vicious and some uncontrolable. Probably the best answer is to keep the papers of what the dogs family is. Then when they breed the purebreds they can breed them with dogs far from their biiological family. Or the easiest way to stop this dilemma is to stop pure bred breeding but that will most likely never happen. Also many dogs are beaten and neglected, hence they become vicious and at that point don't know right from wrong. It really is a sad situation that needs to stop.

Some domestic dogs are treated wrongly and end up aggressive. It's a sad thing that happens and the only way i can think of controlling it is not giving away pets to the wrong owners. Of course you don't know what they are going to be like but, you can ask them stuff like what do you do for a living so you know if they will be able to even spend time with the dog while your kid is at school. Or if the owner is at work. Dogs need someone to play with expesially a pup.
Domestic dogs aren't a threat. They can be a PROBLEM because they can be owned by any idiot.

Dogs don't ';contain'; rabies, EVERY mammal can transmit or catch rabies.

Want to prevent rabies? Be a responsible owner and have your dog vaccinated.

Want to make dogs less of a threat? Encourage responsible ownership.
say --- are you with the chinese government?

Those morons had over 100,000 domestic dogs beat to death because they were too stupid to provide rabies vaccinations for them --

Now tell me about how people are threats to society - lot more to work on with that - people are the threats to society, not dogs.

Nicolea -- stop breeding pedigrees and there won't be any more problems? Huh????

What do you think mutts are comprised of? Do you think they have no traits of any of the breeds that they are a mix of? Logic is not your strong point to put it mildly.

Been some weird questions on here - but this one is beyond dumb.
Well unnentered/spayed dogs reproduce causing an over population of stray animals (along with feral cats). Also when strays aren't vaccinated then they can carry diseases with them and spread to other dogs and animal life... Then there are the stray dogs that keep dragging out my trash and the feral cats that use my yard as a restroom... they are a threat to my sanity...
Train them correctly and they won't be a threat. Problem solved.:)

Add:

If a dog has rabies, it will be put down, as its impossible to cure.

If this is what you see as a ';threat'; What do you go when joe shmo with aids walks past you? There are MUCH bigger threats to us humans that we live and breath in everyday, than a dog is. I don't know where you heard this...but I find it, not very reputable.
The biggest threat domestic dogs pose to society is the increased risk of stepping in poop unexpectedly.

Howbout we worry about violent crime, the economy, education and health care before we start worrying about something that poses no threat to us?
my dogs arent a threat 2 society. they have all their vaccinations and are well socialized

im not 2 sure the point you're trying 2 make
It would help if you could define why you think they are a threat?
I don't understand your question.
