Why would evolution make it possible to control your bowels when going private is social?

Why is man the only animal that goes private? Evolution does not include physical control of body functions for social reasons. Why would evolution make it possible to control your bowels when going private is social?
You've never taken a comparative zoology course. Humans and other placental mammals have two openings down below - urinary/genital and intestinal. Most of these species have very good control over their function (there are exceptions, especially among domestic animals) and many animals are very private about where they poop (I don't know why you think humans are so special in this regard). Our evolutionary cousins and predecessors - the more primitive mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians aren't built the same way - they all have what's known as a cloaca - a single opening to serve all three functions. If they had no control over their functions, things could get very messy, especially during reproduction. Physical control of urinary/intestinal/genital functions is of paramount importance during reproduction and was certainly influenced by selective pressures. We have control of these functions because it evolved in our line of descent long, long ago.

Illustrating our relationship to earlier vertebrates, humans still possess an embryonic cloaca that divides during development. Sometimes it doesn't and things get very weird - look up sirenomelia.

What do you think pre-20th century humans thought of this? Why would evolution make it possible to control your bowels when going private is social?
Okay usually I wouldn't even try to answer this, however...here goes. Because evolution didn't cause this.

There are two trains of thought, and belief on the subject of evolution as a whole. One is that it is the answer to all the question to how we got here, and the other is that we were created by God. Now I'm not going to start a major debate here, and this is a little off topic, but think about this for a minute. To believe in the theory of evolution you have to throw out the 1st and 2nd laws of thermodynamics. Look them up , and do some research and you'll find that there is little, if any solid proof for belief that the theory of macro- evolution is a fact. To answer your question in what I believe to be the truth, and what the Bible teaches upon the subject of moral behavior. That God wrote the natural moral laws upon the hearts of men, this is why certain things are a constant in all cultures.
actually, many carnivors defecate in private. This has to do first with the fact that their feces is usually far more messy and smelly than herbivors, and thus needs to be removed from the place of dwelling as far as possible. Examine wolves, for example, in the wild. Domesticated dogs are a different situation entirely.
some people decided to mess with us they made up some rules that humans belived, and from their deirected usin a way most benifical to the 1 percent of the poopulation there is. if we didnt have to wear clothes, there would be less shame, more confidence, people would eventully realize that they are being controled, and revolt. it would take more then just clothes, but its a basic senerio.
I know my dog controls its bowels, otherwise it'd be living outside. We tend to poop in private because it's a learned trait, not evolutionary.
the same reason people wear clothes, genius; it has nothing to do with evolving restraint, its from evolving a concious mind.
its an IBM compatibility feature
because poo is gross
