Do you believe the Republicans will loose control of congress in the mid term election?

Republicans control congress and the Democrats would go along with them controlling oil company windfall profits. I for one want a change.Do you believe the Republicans will loose control of congress in the mid term election?
If these are fair and free elections, then yes, the Republicans will lose heavily. If there is no major terrorism incident or an attack on Iran, then yes, I think the chances are that the GOP is in serious trouble.

Nothing surprises me any more and I would not put it past the Chimp to have his handlers engineer an October surprise that might bolster support. I just hope most voters won't be stupid enough to fall for it.Do you believe the Republicans will loose control of congress in the mid term election?
I believe the Republicans will lose control of congress in the midterms, but I don't believe it has anything to do with oil company profits.

Fiscally, I'm a republican. I believe that the government should stay out of everything that it's not entirely necessary for them to be involved in. There are a few things the government HAS to do...national defense, etc. But anything that a state or local government can do, or anything the private sector can do, the federal government should just keep its hands off.

Socially, I'm a democrat. I think in a captialist society, we have a moral obligation to take care of those less fortunate than ourselves. Sadly, most fiscal republicans are so worried about amassing their fortunes that they forget about those less fortunate. Either that, or they take a sack of clothes to the Goodwill and decide they've met their obligation.

I think that between Bush's all-time low approval rating, the whole Tom DeLay incident, and the continual ongoing farce of Dick Cheney (quail hunting in an undisclosed location), the Republicans can't expect to fare too well in the midterms.
The end of the Bush administration is near.

The price of gas at the pump will seal this governments fate.

Research and Development..ummm yeah..10 years down the road don't help me pay my gas NOW or anyone else for that matter.

Time will seal their fate.
no the other way around
WHO CARES? ALL POLITICANS ARE CROOKS SO IT DOESNT MATTER WHO IS IN CONTROL. THEY ONLY INTEREST THEY HAVE IS LOOKING OUT FOR THEMSELVES. THEY ARE RICH AND POWERFUL WHY SHOULD THEY CARE ABOUT OTHER AMERICANS. AFTER ALL IN THIS COUNRTY ITS EVERY MAN FOR HIMSELF.
Of course! With Bush's approval rating going down thats a hard hit on all republicans from big to small. But then again people don't go vote. And if only 60% of the population goes to vote with an approval rating of 33%... well if that 33% goes to vote they will make up more than half of the voters and the republicans can still maintain control over the Senate. But i think its time for a change, our country is going deeper in the red everyday. I think its time for a change of policy.
Depends on which part of Congress your talking about. If you are asking if the Dems will win over both the House and the Senate, then I would say 'no' even given all of the negative PR for the GOP over the last year and the situation in Iraq.

If you mean that the Dems will take over one of the two chambers, then I would say 'yes' that there is a pretty decent chance of that happening and mostly like in the House of Reps where all seats are fair game.

There is no doubt that the prevailing national sentiment seems to be for one of change of the status quo and if there WERE a presidential election this year, then the answer would probably be more resounding that the Dems would prevail if a reputable candidate was in the race (the question of whether or not the Dems HAVE a reputable presidential candidate now -- or in 2008 -- will be a subject of many other strings until then).

So I think the answer is that Congress will be split after the 2006 elections -- an appropriate situation given the deepening divide that exists between the right and left in the US.
I don't have an undying faith in the Republican party to pull off a successful campaign against the Democratic party but I will be voting for the Republican candidate in my area. People keep saying that they only chance Republicans have is if there is another terrorist action on US soil. What does that say about how the Democrats will handle security if they are elected. Will they be the cause of another attack due to lower security concerns. As for gas prices, those are set by OPEC and other countries who sell us oil. Has an Democratic or Republican candidate ran their campaign on lowering oil prices. No that is because they have no control and neither does President Bush. It is called the law of supply and demand. If you want lower gas prices then you must decrease demand, this means drive less.
