How long does it take for birth control to kick in? And whats the best kind?

Answers are greatly appreciated(:How long does it take for birth control to kick in? And whats the best kind?
Standard combined oral contraceptive pills will protect against pregnancy once you have taken an active pill each day for at least seven days in a row. Most American doctors will tell you to wait a month or more, but that's because they don't want to be sued if you do happen to get pregnant. Seven days is the standard instruction where I come from. How long does it take for birth control to kick in? And whats the best kind?
you need to take a whole cycle's worth before you are protected but beware that no contraception is 100% and that the pill alone will not protect you from sexually transmitted diseases. You can't just pick which pill you want. There are hundreds out there. Your doctor will ask you some questions and put you on the right pill for your body. Hope this helps.
pills, one month, IUD about 2 weeks after your period.

iud is good because for sure you will not get pregnant for a long time there are 2 types one for 5 years and the other for 10 years

it will be very unconvertible for few months but it is the safest for me. good luck and be careful
