I've been on the normal birth control pill for almost 10 years. My husband and I want to start trying to have kids in about a year.. how long might it take for the birth control to get out of my system so I will be able to get pregnant? My husband, who doesn't want to have kids any sooner that at least a year, is worried that if I get off the pill in the next few months, we'll get pregnant sooner than then. I, on the other hand, don't want to decide to have kids in a year, get off the pill, and then spend another year waiting for the birth control to get out of me. What do you recommend? How long does it take for birth control to get out of your system?
My advice would be to get off the pill now, and use a condom. This gives your body time to get the pill out of your system, and still protect your self from getting pregnant before you are wanting to. Keep using condoms until you and your husband decide it is time to start trying. GOOD LUCK!!!!How long does it take for birth control to get out of your system?
the pills works very different on people. I took about 6 months to get pregnant the first time, 2 weeks the second time, and i know other people who have taken about 1 year. The person that took 1 year was also on the pill for about the same amount of time you were. I was only on it for about 5 years before my first.
We thought that it would take awhile to get pregnant. I was on the pill for 4 1/2 years. I stopped taking it and I was pregnant the first month. With our daughter, I didn't take birth control and it took us 8 months. The doctor said it could take up to a year.
Well I have seen on the show '; Runway Moms'; that it can take from 1- 6 months depending on your body. The lady on the show took birth control for 19 years and stopped taking it and became pregnant one month later.
It takes a week, but it may take a couple weeks or months for your system to return to it's normal hormone rhythms.
There are other methods of birth control that you can use.
it really depends on your body...i mean because birth control messes with your hormones. since youve been taking it for so long, it might take a while for your body to regulate its self. Youll more than likely be irregular for a while too. but dont freak out! i agree with the other person, stop taking it, and use a condom so that way you givbe your body enough time to get used to regulate its self!
It seriously takes 2 days for the hormones to leave your body. I know three people that got pregnant RIGHT after they got off the pill. Some others have trouble, though. If you stop the pill use condoms until you're ready to start trying. I'd say wait 6 months before you want to get pregnant, go off the pill, use condoms and begin charting your cycle at www.fertilityfriend.com. Once you're ready to start, just have your hubby stop wearing condoms! You'll also know when you're ovulating and be able to conceive quicker. Good luck!
it only takes 2 days to be off the pill for the possiblity of getting pregnant. you'll have to use condoms to be a bit safer...but it's not a guarantee....
I would say to get off the pill about 2-3 months right before you are ready to have the lil ones...
good luck
sometimes it takes 1 year off the pill beofore you can get pregnant, goodluck :)
